Researchers at the MD Anderson Cancer Center have highlighted the protective effects of psilocybin, a psychedelic compound, against nerve damage caused by chemotherapy. This treatment could prevent peripheral neuropathy by acting on serotonin receptors. The results show that psilocybin preserves tactile sensitivity and reduces pain while maintaining the effectiveness of cancer treatments.
