For more than three years, Chile has recorded an unemployment rate above 8%. Currently, this figure exceeds 9%. The increase is mainly due to a growing workforce, while the economy struggles to create jobs. Women are particularly affected with a rate of 10.3%, compared to 8.9% for men. The situation is also marked by an increase in informality and a decline in job offers in several sectors.
