Dr. Nadia Wallace, consulting psychiatrist at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital, advocates for an increase in the legal age for alcohol and marijuana consumption in the region. During Health Week, she mentioned the example of Trinidad, which has already taken this measure. According to her, raising this age to 23 or 25 years would allow for better brain development, thereby reducing the risks of psychosis associated with these substances.
