Since the beginning of the year, 77 femicides have been recorded in the Dominican Republic, according to a local organization. These crimes have left at least 110 children without mothers. Two recent cases, including a murder followed by a suicide, illustrate the severity of the situation. Law enforcement is investigating these acts of violence, which particularly affect women already in danger, often within their own homes.
