The municipality of Higüey announced the acquisition of 16 trucks for waste collection and material transport, representing an expenditure of 130.8 million pesos. This amount is equivalent to 15.4% of the municipal budget for 2026, which stands at 850.5 million pesos. The mayor emphasized that this initiative aims to improve municipal services despite a reduction in the budget compared to the previous year.
