A 36-year-old man was sentenced this Friday to five years in prison, four of which are suspended, for incestuous rapes against his stepdaughter. Although he admitted the facts, he was not incarcerated and left the Basse-Terre court a free man. The incidents, which occurred between 2021 and 2022, were reported two years after his separation from the mother of the teenager. The maximum sentence he faced was twenty years.
