The judicial authority is mobilizing to address acts of violence related to the student movement. Since the beginning of the unrest, more than 5,000 people have been placed in custody, the majority of whom are minors. Firm instructions have been given to prosecutors for swift judgments and alternative measures to prosecution. In Guadeloupe, only one arrest has been recorded for an attempted arson.
