Scientists have identified a new species of lizard in the Andes of Peru, according to the Natural History Museum of the University of San Marcos. Measuring between six and eight centimeters, this lizard exhibits distinct coloration based on sex. It was discovered at an altitude of over 4,800 meters in the Arequipa region and has been named Liolaemus archipensis. This discovery highlights the importance of biodiversity in Peru.
