A team of scientists has identified a new species of lizard in the Andes of Peru, according to the Museum of Natural History at the University of San Marcos. This lizard, measuring between six and eight centimeters, displays distinct coloration depending on the sex. Found at over 4,800 meters above sea level, it has been named Liolaemus archipensis. This discovery is a significant step for the country's biodiversity, which already hosts 296 species of lizards.
