Since the decriminalization of cannabis in Jamaica, its use has intensified among patients suffering from psychosis and schizophrenia. Although the link between cannabis consumption and mental disorders is not clearly established, its impact on patient treatment is concerning. The rise in cases of psychosis, coupled with an increase in risky use, raises questions about mental health management in the country.
