The World Health Organization has stated that it needs 5,000 healthcare professionals to combat the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since its emergence in May, the virus has caused over 3,175 deaths. Health infrastructures are overwhelmed and lacking resources. WHO plans to increase the number of beds in treatment centers to meet the growing demand.
