A fire broke out near the main road leading to Machu Picchu, resulting in the death of one man and injuring two others. The blaze, which started in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, rapidly spread due to hot and windy weather conditions. Authorities indicated that the fire may have been caused by farmers burning brush to prepare agricultural land.
