The 2026 edition of the national reading competition, organized by the Jamaica Library Service, crowned five champions, including two from Portland. The event took place in New Kingston, rewarding the winners with various prizes. Despite the challenges posed by the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa, participation increased, reaching a record 7,700 readers. The competition aims to promote a reading culture in Jamaica.
