On October 29, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean Development Bank inaugurated the Amity Hall/Bridge Pen irrigation system and the associated Agro Park. This project, part of the Southern Plains Agricultural Development, aims to modernize Jamaican agriculture, enhance food security, and create opportunities for farmers, particularly women and youth. Modern infrastructure and training support are also planned.
