On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Martinique experienced massive rescue operations due to a rapid rise in water levels caused by an active tropical wave. Nearly 80 people were rescued, including 76 in Bouliki, Saint-Joseph, where they were trapped by the flooding of the Blanche River. Two other people were also rescued in Nord-Plage, Macouba. No injuries were reported despite the heavy rains.
