The voice of the Caribbean is growing stronger in the International Maritime Organization's discussions on the decarbonization of maritime transport. As the region actively engages in negotiations, four key principles are proposed to ensure a just and equitable transition. The challenges related to fuel availability and infrastructure must be addressed to prevent developing countries from bearing excessive costs.
