An operation by the gendarmes in François led to the seizure of nearly 1.4 tons of conchs, an unprecedented catch in the fight against poaching. Two men were arrested after attempting to flee, one of them having injured a gendarme. In addition to the conchs, law enforcement discovered a weapon, ammunition, cannabis, and a sum of money. The first man was sentenced to one year in prison.
