The city of Saint-Denis is undertaking a large-scale rehabilitation project of the former Jamaica landfill, which has been unoccupied for decades. With 920,000 m3 of waste, the site poses a growing environmental risk to the coastline. The project, funded by ADEME to the tune of 9.4 million euros, aims to restore the local ecosystem and prevent pollution. The work is expected to be completed by 2028.
