A police officer was arrested for possession of ammunition following an operation conducted by the Central Division. The intervention took place on August 17, 2026, when officers intercepted a vehicle in Couva, discovering a bag containing ammunition. Although the officer was on leave, he was taken into custody. Searches at his home and at his station revealed nothing illegal. A charge was filed against him after consultation with the Prosecutor's office.
