Over 10 million dollars have been invested in outdated electronic monitoring devices, lacking cut-resistant straps. During a parliamentary inquiry, the head of the Electronic Monitoring Unit reported four incidents of violations. To prevent future issues, the unit plans to replace these old devices with more secure monitoring equipment featuring steel bracelets.
