The Junkanoo season has been launched with the distribution of over $900,000 in funding to participating groups and individuals. During an event led by the Minister of Culture, contracts were signed by various categories of groups, including those from family islands. The newly established Junkanoo authority aims to enhance the sustainability of this cultural tradition while promoting broader access throughout the year.
