A new technology, developed by Banyu Carbon, is currently being tested in Western Australia. Based on research on ocean acidification, it uses light-sensitive molecules to extract CO2 from the air. This process, powered by solar energy, aims to provide an alternative to traditional methods of reducing carbon emissions. While promising, this technology is still in its early stages and must prove its effectiveness on a large scale.
