The government of Barbados is ramping up its efforts to achieve a target of 50% renewable energy by December 2027. To support this ambition, it plans to increase battery energy storage capacity to 125 megawatts. Currently, 60 megawatts are in the process of being acquired, and an additional 65 megawatts will be added. Preparatory work for the implementation of these projects began this month.
