A recent study reveals that the number of Black candidates for the 2026 Brazilian elections has significantly increased. Out of more than 20,000 candidacies, nearly 10,200 involve individuals identifying as "pretas" or "pardas". Although this increase is promising, experts emphasize that it does not guarantee equitable access to campaign funding due to recent regulatory changes.
