Starting September 1st, changes will come into effect regarding third-party payment for certain hybrid and biosimilar medications. Patients who refuse a substitute medication without medical justification will have to pay the full cost of their treatment upfront. Additionally, the reimbursement from the Health Insurance may be calculated based on the most expensive substitute, leaving part of the costs to be borne by the patient.
