The State has responded to the appeal to the Court of Cassation regarding the ruling to compensate the victims of chlordécone. In a letter, the Minister of Agriculture stated that this appeal does not call into question the responsibility of the State. She expressed reservations about certain formulations of the decision of the administrative court of appeal. Despite this appeal, the State maintains its commitment to compensate the victims, as provided by a recently adopted law.
