On July 13, 2025, Kilyan Vildeuil, a 17-year-old teenager, lost his life in Vénissieux after being hit by a Martiniquan motorcyclist driving without a license or insurance. The latter, sentenced to seven years in prison for aggravated involuntary manslaughter, has decided to appeal this decision. The accident occurred while Kilyan was returning home after his shift at McDonald's, crossing a pedestrian crossing.
