No member of the government or senior state official will be able to run in the upcoming elections, even in the event of immediate resignation. This prohibition is supported by the National Pact for stability and the organization of elections as well as by the electoral decree, both published in the official journal. The decree specifies the definition of senior state official, but not that of government member.
