A 45-year-old man from Guyana has been detained after being suspected of trying to illegally introduce cough syrup into Suriname. Intercepted at the Burnside checkpoint, he did not possess a valid passport. Law enforcement discovered 53 bottles of Tussadryl in his luggage. The individual was arrested and brought before the court after consultation with the public prosecutor's office.
