The Department of Forestry has recently acquired a VTOL drone and a forest management system to improve forest surveillance in Jamaica. This initiative aims to enhance the collection and analysis of essential data for forest management, especially in the face of climate challenges. The drone, equipped with advanced sensors, will allow for accurate assessment of forested areas, while the integrated system will facilitate data processing and collaboration among stakeholders.
