Martinique has been appointed rapporteur to the Executive Bureau of the Special Committee on Trade of the Association of Caribbean States for the period 2026-2027. Although this role is perceived as a continuation of its regional commitment, it raises questions about its true power of influence. As an associated member, Martinique cannot directly negotiate trade agreements, which limits its role in this consultative body.
