The president of the New Caledonia government announced an austerity plan for the next six months, as the territory needs to find nearly 109 million euros to finish the year 2026. Pension and health insurance reforms are priorities and must be voted on before the end of the year. A delegation will travel to Paris to discuss financial support, with the aim of establishing a responsibility contract.
