The municipal police officer from Koungou was injured in the shin during a traffic control operation after attempting to intercept a fleeing vehicle. He was transported to Mamoudzou hospital and then evacuated to La Réunion for treatment. The Unsa union expressed its support for the officer and his family while denouncing the road violence that threatens the safety of users and law enforcement.
