Since the arrival of the Trump administration, the United States has been seeking to establish strong relationships with resource-rich Caribbean countries. During a visit to Trinidad, the undersecretary announced the reopening of a steel plant that has been closed for over ten years, as part of a $750 million project. This initiative aims to produce steel for the local and American markets while creating over 1,000 local jobs.
