Despite a significant increase in pineapple production, exports of this fruit have alarmingly dropped. Shipments have decreased by 82.8% in four years, falling from over six thousand tons in 2021 to just one thousand tons in 2025. This situation is due to the loss of markets, rising production costs, and a rapidly growing domestic demand, which has doubled during the same period.
