The public defense has denounced a critical situation at the Dajabón police station, where 52 detainees are crammed into a space designed for 15 people. Among them, 35 have been in preventive detention for several months, some since April 2026. Living conditions are precarious, and despite the existence of suitable correctional facilities, the authorities have not yet proceeded with their transfer. An urgent call has been made to remedy this unacceptable situation.
